A West Virginia man was fatally shot by police officers who responded to a domestic incident at a West Virginia home early this Wednesday. According to the authorities, the West Virginia man was armed with a knife.

SOURCE– Authorities from St. Albans and the Nitro Police Department responded to a call after midnight. The call that the police officers received was about a domestic incident happening at a West Virginia home.
Kanawha County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Joe Crawford said in a report that the West Virginia man responsible for the domestic incident was in the home when the responding officers arrived. The responding police officers attempted to get the West Virginia man to leave the house, but he refused.
The responding officers deployed a stun gun, but it didn’t work, so one of the officers shot the West Virginia man, the authorities said.

The shooting happened after the West Virginia man threatened the responding officers with a knife and began advancing on them. From there, the responding officers had no choice but to shoot the West Virginia man, as the stun gun was rendered useless.
According to AP News, a woman present at the scene was suffering from minor injuries. The woman was treated afterwards, the report says.
