Human remains were found in a Mesquite forested area by Seagoville police on Thursday when they were searching for a missing teacher’s assistant from Dallas ISD.
What Happened?
On October 12, at 5:53 p.m., Mesquite police were dispatched to the vicinity of Interstate 20 and Lawson Road to look into the remains that the Seagoville Police Department’s officers had discovered while searching for Jennifer Mendez Olascoaga, who vanished two weeks prior.

On September 27, Olascoaga disappeared from the Creekside mobile home park in Seagoville after dropping off a friend. Following that, according to her family, the friend got some unsettling texts asking if they were missing someone and threatening that she would never be discovered.
A representative for her family claims that although they were informed about the search on Thursday, they have not yet received word regarding the identity of the remains.
According to Mesquite police, this is still an ongoing investigation, and more details will be made public as they become available.
