The early-morning Saturday police rescue of a trapped guy from a flaming automobile was seen on bodycam video by a White Settlement officer.
Who Is The Rescuing Guy?
The 1700 block of S. Cherry Lane was the scene soon before three in the morning. According to the White Settlement Police Department, a caller reported to 911 that the car’s engine compartment started fire after it collided with a post.
Two persons were located in the automobile by the responding police. The male passenger was unconscious and unable to exit the car, but the driver was able to do so safely. Before medical help could reach the man to assist him, police hastily removed him from the flaming automobile.
Both Victim Are Hospitalized
Police Chief Christopher Cook stated, “I want to emphasize the courageous efforts of the police officers who serve our community. “As you can see from the video, this crash could have had a very different outcome if it weren’t for the quick and decisive actions by police,” the police said.
The driver and passenger were both treated at a hospital and are both expected to make a full recovery. The reason of the collision is still under investigation, and according to WSPD, it has not been ruled out that speed may have been a contributing factor that contributed to the driver losing control.
According to investigators, the car over the outside curb and hit a utility pole while it was moving northbound on S. Cherry Lane. The White Department assisted with the call.
