Police Chief Christopher Cook stated, “I want to emphasize the courageous efforts of the police officers who serve our community. “As you can see from the video, this crash could have had a very different outcome if it weren’t for the quick and decisive actions by police,” the police said.
The driver and passenger were both treated at a hospital and are both expected to make a full recovery. The reason of the collision is still under investigation, and according to WSPD, it has not been ruled out that speed may have been a contributing factor that contributed to the driver losing control.
According to investigators, the car over the outside curb and hit a utility pole while it was moving northbound on S. Cherry Lane. The White Department assisted with the call.
