The father of Wadea Al-Fayoume, a Palestinian American boy who was 6 years old and was fatally stabbed in Plainfield Township, has taken legal action by suing Joseph Czuba, his wife Mary, and their property management company, Discerning Property Management, for wrongful death. The claim says that Czuba went after Hanan Shaheen and her son because they were Muslims, especially after the war between Israel and Hamas. The terrible event happened on October 14 when Czuba is said to have struck them with a knife, killing Wadea and seriously hurting his mother. The father, Oday Al-Fayoume, wants justice and money to make up for the family’s terrible loss and pain.

Wadea Al-Fayoume, 6, was stabbed and killed in Plainfield Township. His family has now filed a wrongful-death case under the Wrongful Death Act to get money for their loss. Joseph Czuba, who is suspected of committing the attack, is being charged with severe abuse, first-degree murder, and committed a hate crime. Together with the FBI and local police, the U.S. Justice Department has started an investigation into a hate crime. The claim says Mary Czuba knew her husband “hated Muslims” and did nothing to stop the harm. The case is set to go to court on March 11. Mary Czuba and Discerning Property Management, who are being charged, have not filed a lawyer.
