According to Lagrada article, in March 2024 people who get Social Security payments will receive them on different days based on when they were born and the kind of benefits they get. For those getting first SSI payment check will be on March 1st. This also starts a new payment time for some retired people and those on SSDI who started getting benefits before May 1997. If someone gets both Social Security and SSI they might also get their Social Security payment on March 1st. Then other Social Security payments might come on March 13, 20, and 27, depending on when the person was born.

Are You Eligible?

In 2024, the most money someone can get from Social Security has gone up because the Social Security Administration increased it by 3.2%. This means more money each month for people getting SSDI, SSI, Social Security retirement benefits, early retirement benefits, and VA disability benefits. The most someone can get from SSI is $943 each month if they’re alone, and $1,415 each month for a couple. And the most someone can get from SSDI each month in 2024 is $3,822 which is more than what they could get in 2023.

The increase in payments in 2024 is meant to help people keep up with the rising cost of things. This way people getting Social Security can plan better and have enough money to cover their expenses.
