A tragic news has shocked Indiana community after a 5-year-old boy shot his 16-month-old brother with a handgun which had caused the toddler’s instant death. The incident had prompted the Indiana police to arrest Deonta Jermaine Johnson and Shatia Tiara Welch for neglect and drugs charges.

16-month-old boy killed By 5-Year-Old Brother Through Gun Shot
In report from CBS, a 16-month-old boy killed by his own 5-year-old brother incident had happened last March 28 this year. The father was reported to have been present the shooting, Deonta Jermaine Johnson, the 27-year-old father was asleep on the couch when the shooting happened.
While sleeping, the 5-year-old happened to get hold of a handgun that was allegedly owned by Shatia Tiara Welch, their 24-year-old mother. The 5-year-old then proceeded to shot his 16-month-old brother in the head.

16-month-old boy killed By 5-Year-Old Brother Tested Positive For Illegal Drugs
Further investigation by the police showed that the 16-month-old boy killed by his brother, had traces of Marijuana in his blood. The 5-year-old shooter were found to be positive for cocaine as reported by NBC.
After the shooting, officers were able to seize 93 fentanyl pills, marijuana and paraphernalia inside the crime scene which happened also to be their apartment in Romney Meadows apartments in Lafayette.
