A program called “BREATHE” will send $1,000 in direct payments to eligible residents for three years in Los Angeles County.
$1,000 in Direct Payments for 3 Years
Guaranteed direct payments across the country have been proven to help millions of families out of poverty. If not, these somehow helped them to face the increasing prices of basic commodities and meet their daily needs to support their family.
In a published article in the Washington Examiner, Los Angeles County launched a program called “BREATHE” that will send an amount of $1,000 to eligible residents for three years. This program aims to make sure that the recipients will feel that they are financially stable through the program.
Moreover, on the official website of the “BREATHE” program, it was mentioned that it will expand and will cater additional 200 recipients.
Eligibility and Qualifications for the “BREATHE” Program
According to a published article in The Gazette, the following are the eligibility and qualifications for the expansion of the “BREATHE” program:
- Applicants must be at least 21 years old and not turn 24 before Sept. 1.
- Applicants must also be former Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services foster youth who were in care on or after their 18th birthday.
- A household income at or below 100% of the area median income for a single-person household or 120% of the area median income for a household of two or more people
- They also must have been negatively affected by the coronavirus pandemic and may not be enrolled in another guaranteed income program.
Those who intend to apply have until July 3 and they can process their application through the official website of Los Angeles County.
