Trump’s Tax Information: Only $750 Tax Payments
In 2020, The New York Times published a report based on Trump’s tax information, revealing that he had paid only $750 in federal income taxes in both 2016 and 2017. His income included a $373,629 salary, large interest, dividends, and capital gains, but business losses and other factors led to a negative overall income. While he didn’t owe regular income tax, he still had to pay the Alternative Minimum Tax (A.M.T.). Trump used a business credit to offset his $7,435,857 A.M.T. bill, but inexplicably, $750 was deducted from the credit, resulting in his total federal income tax liability of just $750.
Littlejohn faces a single count of unauthorized disclosure of Trump’s tax information, which could result in up to five years in prison if he is convicted.
As of now, his attorney has not provided a statement on the charges. The Justice Department had not commented on the case at the time of the initial reports.
