According to Global News, in 2023 the Canadian government announced a new tax rebate to help people with low or modest incomes. It’s called the grocery rebate and will use the GST tax credit system. This move is to help around 11 million households in Canada. Food prices have been going up a lot and the government wants to help. The Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland said they will give targeted support to people who need it most. Families with two kids could get $467 while single people could get $234.
