Arizona Attorney General Sues IRS Over Taxing Child Rebates: Fighting for Fairness for Arizona Families
Arizona Attorney General Mayes has made a surprising move by suing the IRS. She believes that taxing the money given to Arizona families as a child tax rebate is wrong and not fair. Mayes thinks the IRS is treating Arizona differently from other states. The rebates were given to about 750,000 families in Arizona giving each family $250 per child up to $750. Despite Mayes asking the IRS to change its decision they said the money should be taxed. Now Mayes wants to stop the IRS from taxing the rebates and get back the taxes already paid by Arizonans.
