Pandemic-Era Medicaid Coverage Ends
The yearly determination for the eligibility for the Medicaid program was paused during the pandemic resulting in Millions of enrollments. Around 2 million additional enrollments was added since 2019. During public Health Emergency, the State was prohibited to terminate the Medicaid coverage. Resulting to a total of 5.8 million Texans being enrolled in January for the Medicaid program according to reports.

Ten States across US had decided not to expand their Medicaid programs including Texas. Most of the new enrollment are children, Adults who were once beneficiaries of Medicaid programs may have transitioned to other coverage programs or just not eligible for the program anymore.
