Policymakers urged Biden to stand firm with US support for Ukraine, turn up the sanctions and rush in the weapons Kyiv requires to deter Russia.

Biden said that the US support for Ukraine to win the war should make Russia pay. Support for Ukraine and opposition for Russian aggression has remained high, but confidence in US President Biden is low, his leadership of the international effort is lacking.

According to the New York Post, the US support for Ukraine and opposition to Russian aggression has remained high, however, the confidence in President Biden is low, his leadership of the international effort has been lacking. His inability to articulate the threat that Russia poses to the US interests in concrete terms, and his refusal to commit to Ukaine’s win are wearing him patience. So much for the US support for Ukraine, right?

His repeated claim about the US support for Ukraine for as long as it takes, without even defining what ‘it’ is, frustrates even to America’s most dedicated Ukraine backers. Before and therougout the war, Biden has been urged by policymakers to stand firm and deter the Russians, to turn up sanctions and rush in the weapons that Ukraine requires, as the US support for Ukraine.

However, Biden has instead chosen to adopt a slow tempo and gradual approach to provide more capable weapons, like longer-range strike systems. Republican leaders have pushed all systems with the goal of helping Ukraine to win and not to lose as Ukraine grinds through its counteroffensive.

Congress should not settle for Biden’s platitudes and must continue the US support for Ukraine. Continue to press him to cooperate with allies to fully help Ukraine’s win.

The Department of Defense has received the most funding in every supplemental, and is dubbed as ‘for Ukraine’. The Pentagon has received money to replenish stocks,expand production capacity of munitions, train and pay American troops, give the military a chance to replace the older weapons being sent to Ukraine, as the US support for Ukraine in the war, with more advanved weapons.

When it comes to rebuilding Ukrainian society, Congress should insist that Russia pays for the reconstructions. A bipartisan bill would give tte president the authority to make Russian president Putin and Russian oligarchs to pay for Ukraine’s reconstruction. The US support for Ukraine is right, but asking America to rebuild Ukraine is asking too much.

If Biden keeps saying that the US support for Ukraine will take as long as is takes, then the congress should respond by telling him that it should take little time as possible and that Russians should be paying for what they have done.
