California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a legislation in 2020 to establish the California Reparations Task Force. They were tasked to create a research study about anti-black racism and its damages.

California Reparations Task Force Reparation Recommendation

After 3 years, reparations Task Force submitted their report through a 1,100-paged-document. They have forwarded their findings to the state legislature,

The Reparations Task submitted its recommendations with suggestions ranging from paying over $1 million in reparations to eligible black Californians. Reparations Task Force submitted their report and have compiled around 1,100-paged-document.

In addition to paying the black Californians, the recommendation also includes reparation payments to prostitutes as well as anti-bullying initiatives like sponsorships for “gay-straight alliances’ in schools.

California Reparations Task Force Reparation to Maintain Cultural Sensitivity

It also recommends annual competence and cultural sensitivity trainings to professional who works with diverse population especially African American youth and African American LGBTQ+ youth.

According to the report, An Anti-bullying policy that should be “anti-racist” and “LGBTQ inclusive” will be recommended to the State’s Department of Education to maintain “cultural humility” and “cultural sensitivity” among students.

The total cost for the recommendations could cost up to hundreds of billions. The White House remained silent about the California Reparations Task Force’s recommendation.
