A Devastating Incident Unfolds
The Portland shooting at Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital in Oregon has sent shockwaves through the community after a security guard and a suspect lost their lives in the devastating incident. The tragic events unfolded on a Saturday morning when an armed individual opened fire inside the medical center, as reported by Fox News and New York Post.
The incident was met with a swift response from the Portland Police Department, who were alerted to “threats inside the hospital” around 11 a.m. (PDT). According to police statements, the suspect was armed with “at least one firearm” during the shooting spree. The hospital’s fifth floor, situated close to the birthing unit, became the scene of this senseless act of violence, as disclosed by Sgt. Kevin Allen in a news conference held on the same evening.

Following the Portland shooting, the suspect fled the scene, prompting an immediate lockdown of the hospital as law enforcement launched a comprehensive search operation. At the outset, there were indications that the suspect might have sought refuge in a nearby Fred Meyer grocery store. Consequently, the store was promptly evacuated and meticulously searched, but authorities later confirmed that the suspect was, in fact, located inside a vehicle.
In the wake of the incident, multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Special Emergency Reaction Team (SERT) and the Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT), were engaged in a determined “tactical effort” to locate the suspect. Eventually, the suspect’s vehicle was brought to a stop in Gresham, thanks to the combined efforts of Portland East Precinct and Gresham police officers. As a confrontation unfolded between the suspect and law enforcement, shots were fired, leading to the tragic death of the suspect. Fortunately, no officers sustained injuries during the encounter.
Security Guard’s Tragic Demise
Despite the heroic efforts to save him, the hospital security guard succumbed to his injuries after being transferred to a Level 1 Trauma Center.
The heart-wrenching Portland shooting has left the hospital’s chief operating officer, Jonathan Avery, describing the incident as “an extremely scary situation.” He urged the public to stay away from the hospital until it could be deemed safe to reopen.
Portland Police Department Chief Chuck Lovell expressed his gratitude for the coordinated response of hospital staff and law enforcement during this trying time. He extended his heartfelt sympathy to the affected families, friends, and coworkers of the hospital staff who endured this tragic event.

My guess is, they were trying to kidnap the patient, and the gunman told them not to, and they tried to do so anyway and called security. They kidnap and drug people not for crimes, but for the Orwellian thoughtcrime officially named “suicide ideation.” It’s the crime of having a bad day. If that’s what happened, it serves the goon right for trying to kidnap the patient.
That’s not to ignore the “success” stories. They do ask the hostage, in effect, Do you want to get committed, or do you feel better now? and most of them do say they feel better.
The constitutionally acknowledged unalienable right “to be secure against” unreasonable searches and seizures isn’t the right to have evidence suppressed. It is the absolute right to resist by whatever means the goons choose to make necessary.
The only other explanation I can think of is a premie who cannot survive, and somebody has to baptise the kid while the kid is living, or the kid will burn in Hell for eternity, and that’s more important than wasting precious seconds weighing and dressing the kid, as the staff wanted to do.
