Treasurer Stacy Garrity Leads Pennsylvania’s Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program

According to Pennsylvania Treasurer, treasurer Stacy Garrity is leading Pennsylvania’s Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program which helps many residents who are struggling financially. With support from the General Assembly and Governor Shapiro the program has grown over the years providing over $7.3 billion in relief since 1971. It’s especially important now with high inflation causing financial stress. The Treasury has already processed $145.4 million for this year’s program. The deadline to apply is now December 31, 2023, so eligible Pennsylvanians should apply soon. Treasurer Garrity says the program is crucial especially with high inflation affecting household budgets.

Pennsylvania’s Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program: Evolving to Meet the Needs of the Community
In 2024 the program will change. The maximum standard rebate will increase from $650 to $1,000 and household income limits for property tax and rent rebates will rise. Starting in 2025 income limits will be adjusted every year based on the Consumer Price Index. This program helps seniors widows widowers and people with disabilities and it will continue to be an important resource for those who need it.
