When I visited Wisconsin as a visitor I was astounded by the state’s booming population of over 5.9 million and its strong economy, which is fueled by the manufacturing, agricultural and healthcare sectors. Wisconsin has many cities with economies so prosperous that their household incomes are higher than the national average. I’ll examine the 5 richest cities identifying the elements that have contributed to their prosperity and highlighting significant data that have captured my interest along the way.

  4. Whitefish Bay: Diverse Economy
    • Whitefish Bay, a picturesque village near Lake Michigan, thrives with a diverse economy supported by approximately 330 businesses. The village’s economic vitality is reflected in a median household income of $134,324 and a low unemployment rate of 3.5%.
  5. Fox Point: Affluence and Residential Charm
    • Fox Point in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, impresses with a cost of living 1.1 times higher than the national average. Despite a Homesnacks rating of 115, indicating affluence the village faces a 6.3% unemployment rate. Notable features include residential charm, shopping centers and desirable living conditions.
