Justice came at a cost, according to some, while many rejoiced at the guilty decision. One of the most enigmatic murders in hip-hop history was the subject of a three-day trial by jury.
What Happened?
Witnesses stated that on October 30, 2002, Jordan killed Mizell inside his studio while Washington, a boyhood buddy, stood watch outside the door with a revolver.
Bryant faced charges a year ago. According to the prosecution, he entered the studio covertly and let Jordan and Washington to enter by a fire escape. Bryant will stand trial in front of a judge after entering a not guilty plea.
The sole witness summoned by the defense team was a memory expert, who supported the main contention of their case, which was that Jordan and Washington were only related to Mizell’s murder because of deteriorating memories.

Additionally, the defense attempted to link the murder to Bryant, the only person whose DNA was discovered in the studio—on a hat that was recovered next to Mizell’s body.
Washington,59, and Jordan,40, could spend 20 years to life in federal prison. Defense lawyers have already promised to file an appeal of the verdict.
Although these accusations include the possibility of the death sentence, U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland instructed Brooklyn federal prosecutors not to pursue it in June of last year.
