Internet Poses No Major Threat To Individual’s Psychological Well-Being
SOURCE– According to a new study conducted by senior researchers, even though it might seem like web surfing could cause harm to a person’s mental health, there is no evidence showing that internet usage causes widespread harm to an individual’s psychological well-being.
Senior researcher Andrew Przybylski said that they did not find any ‘smoking gun’ linking technology and psychological well-being. They also looked very closely at the specifics, like age and gender, but found nothing. It refutes the concerns that internet use is harming the psychological wellbeing of women and younger people.
According to the study, instead of harming the psychological well-being of females, the average satisfaction has increased over the past two decades.

Researchers Asks Technology Companies To Provide More Data For Further Studies On The Impact Of Internet Use In People’s Psychological Well-Being
Although the researchers didn’t find any major evidence of internet use harming the psychological well-being of an individual, they are asking technology companies to provide them with more data for a further study on the impact of internet use on people’s mental health.
According to the research study posted in Sage Journals, the study on the effects of internet technologies on an individual’s psychological well-being is being stalled due to the lack of data that is being held behind closed doors by online platforms and technology companies.
