Under British law, the accusers cannot be identified; nonetheless, all four of them testified throughout the trial, as did Spacey, who expressed his shock at the claims. The four men referred to Spacey as a “sexual bully” and a predator in their testimonies.
Spacey said in a brief statement following the verdict on Wednesday that he had a lot to take in. Spacey told reporters, “I’m tremendously thankful to the jury for having taken the time to thoroughly consider all of the evidence and all of the circumstances before reaching their judgment, and I’m humbled by the conclusion today.
After Anthony Rapp, another actor, accused Spacey of earlier sexual misconduct, he was sacked from the Netflix series “House of Cards” in 2017. Later, a civil jury in Massachusetts held him not accountable for those claims.
