Cyanide Poisoning
On March 15, Mrs Craig was transported to the hospital for severe headaches and dizziness. She was immediately put into intensive care unit where she was declared brain dead. Her life support was taken out on March 19.
When a nurse called the police for possible ‘poisoning’, the police took over in the investigation.
A witness, who works with James Craig mentioned that on March 13, a few days before Mrs Craig was brought to the hospital, package from Amazon had arrived on James Craig’s work place. He had told workers not to open the ‘personal’ package.
When the package arrived, another employee had accidentally opened the package, the employees discovered that James Craig had ordered ‘Potassium Cyanide”.

Poison Ordered From Amazon
When asked about the package, James Craig mentioned that it was a ‘ring’, a supposed gift to his wife. When confronted by the witnesses’ account, he then changed his alibi and told police that he, in fact, ordered Cyanide but Mrs Craig was the one who requested it.
Aside from Cyanide, another chemical, Tetrahydrozoline which is an ingredient for eyedrops was also found in Mrs Craig’s body.
While Mrs. Craig was admitted to the ICU, James Craig had arranged a meeting with another woman, Karin Cain. The two had sent several sexually explicit messages amongst each other. James Craig allegedly said that he was on the process of divorcing his wife.
James Craig was awaiting trial for first-degree murder and tampering with physical evidence charge and had appeared in Court last July 11 for the preliminary hearing. He is held with $10 million cash bond.
