North Korea Criticizes South Korea’s War Preparedness Calls
The Korean Central News Agency‘s editorial criticized South Korea’s request for war preparation and restated North Korea’s assertion that South Korea broke the 2018 inter-Korean military pact. South Korean military officials’ words were called “bluff and bravado coming from a guilty conscience,” like a terrified dog, by the KCNA.
Defense Minister Shin Won-sik warned of a “hell of destruction” if North Korea takes “reckless” moves, and Joint Chiefs Chairman Adm. Kim Myung-soo urged for “overwhelming” defenses.
After Seoul partially terminated the 2018 military tension reduction agreement in protest over North Korea’s launch of a military spy satellite, North Korea vowed to resume all military steps. North Korea launched its fifth intercontinental ballistic missile into the East Sea this year.

A day earlier, North Korea launched a short-range ballistic missile. South Korea’s military said North Korea’s “full of bluffs” warnings against Seoul’s responses violated repeated UN Security Council resolutions.
