Russia Launches 90 Drones on Ukraine. (The Malta Independent)
According to Toronto Star report, Russia surprised everyone on New Year’s Day by sending a whopping 90 Shahed-type drones into Ukraine. President Vladimir Putin, speaking from a military hospital, said Russia would hit Ukraine even harder after blaming them for the recent attack on Belgorod. Putin accused Western countries of trying to put Russia down.

The day went on with continuous drone attacks causing harm and damage across Ukraine. In Odesa, a 15-year-old boy died, and seven others got hurt from debris. Russian strikes also caused casualties in Kherson, Kharkiv, and Sumy. Lviv faced big damage, affecting historical places and university buildings. The conflict’s impact reached Russian-occupied Donetsk and the border town of Shebekino, making the humanitarian crisis worse.
