A probable reason for the violent attack on a medical clinic in Cedar Hill earlier this week has been disclosed by recently released court records.
What Happened ?
Bryan McGee is suspected of shooting and wounding one person Tuesday afternoon at the Methodist Family Health Center, where his ex-girlfriend allegedly worked.
McGee’s ex-girlfriend admitted in the warrant that “he choked her” in Glenn Heights the evening before the incident. Later, it was claimed that she informed her sister that McGee had threatened to murder her and said, “If he could not have her, no one could.”According to the allegation, McGee arrived the next day with a pistol in the clinic’s foyer.
A 62-year-old doctor and other staff members then started guiding individuals out of the premises through the employee access and exit doors, while some staff members “ran to the back of the clinic and locked themselves in a closet,” the warrant reads.
Identify Kept Secret
When the doctor heard a gunshot and turned to escape for a rear exit, he “immediately felt pain in his lower back region.” He claimed to authorities that the gunfire did not knock him unconscious and that he instead “kept running and ended up outside.”Police from Cedar Hill were already in route and would shortly surround McGee at that point.
At that point, cops’ body cameras saw McGee defying their orders and shooting at them before being shot himself. Despite being in severe condition, he continues to be accused of attempted murder of a police officer and aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon.
The doctor will heal at home while the E. Belt Line Road clinic is closed. However, a Methodist Health System representative stated he “would like to thank the community for their support and the team at Methodist Dallas for the excellent care he received.” His identity is being kept a secret out of respect for his privacy.
