In accordance with time already spent, Darrin Lopez has been found guilty and given a 62-year prison term for the 2020 shooting death of James “Jamie” Faith.
On October 9, 2020, while walking their dog in north Oak Cliff, the 49-year-old employee of American Airlines and his wife, Jennifer Faith, were shot and murdered.

Detectives were informed by his wife that a stranger in a black pickup vehicle had driven up and started shooting. She added that the shooter attempted to kidnap her.
Soon after the murder, Dallas Police Deputy Chief Avery Moore claimed, “According to the witness…he had duct tape, he grabbed her, tried to tape her wrists, and tried to pull jewelry off her fingers.”

When detectives learned that Jennifer Faith was having an emotional affair with Lopez, her high school love, they were suspicious.Jennifer Faith allegedly told him stories about being mistreated by her spouse. Lopez allegedly went to Texas from Tennessee to kill him, according to detectives.
The ATF Special Response Team in Tennessee eventually located him and charged him with the murder in January 2021, many months after it occurred.
Between September 30 and October 30, 2020, he and Jennifer Faith exchanged more than 14,000 calls and messages, according to the Dallas Police Department’s investigation. One communication went so far as to outline a five-year plan for “how they would be together.” She was given a life sentence after entering a guilty plea to a federal charge in the case last year.
