According to a source knowledgeable on the subject, the US has informed Congress and European allies about fresh information regarding Russian nuclear capabilities that may constitute a threat to international security, as reported by Reuters on Wednesday.

The source claimed that there is no immediate threat to the United States from the new capabilities, which are connected to Russian efforts to construct a space-based weapon.
The New York Times originally reported that the new intelligence was connected to Russia’s efforts to construct a space-based anti-satellite nuclear weapon, citing current and former U.S. officials. According to an earlier ABC News report, the intelligence was related to this kind of capability. The nuclear bomb, according to both current and previous authorities, was not in orbit.
