Some feel the US is prolonging the war by seizing Ukrainian goods.
According to an AA report, Russia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sergey Lavrov, told the UN Security Council that the US is trying to grab Ukraine’s resources and prolong the war by arming Ukraine. Lavrov claimed the US and its Western partners want a “senseless military confrontation,” despite the weak Ukrainian military. He stated that the US has a long-term deal to use Ukrainian farmlands at a discount and has bought major Ukrainian enterprises.

Denying Russia started the conflict and saying it did
Robert Wood, the US Deputy Envoy to the UN, quickly corrected Lavrov’s claims. According to Wood, Russia invaded Ukraine to start the war. He stated that Putin wanted to destroy Ukraine and rule its people. He also blamed Russia for the extended fight. Wood also said that Russia is misusing its UN Security Council authority to hurt Ukraine without accountability.
