Three suspects have been apprehended in connection with the Angeles Crest Highway killing of a man at a scenic lookout. The Pasadena police have charged the individuals with robbery but not murder, sparking interest and concern among the public.
Angeles Crest Highway Killing
The Angeles Crest Highway killing occurred in the early hours of July 22 when 32-year-old Jesse Munoz, a Los Angeles resident, was brutally murdered at mile marker 36. Munoz was accompanied by a female companion at the time of the fatal attack.
Three days after the Angeles Crest Highway killing, law enforcement executed a strategic operation, intercepting a specific vehicle occupied by armed criminal street gang members in Panorama City.
Members of the Pasadena Police Department’s Robbery-Homicide Unit have stated that they have gathered evidence linking a specific criminal street gang to multiple murders and violent crimes across Los Angeles County in the past week.
At a news conference, the Pasadena police disclosed that the Angeles Crest Highway killing suspects in custody may also be connected to a separate fatal shooting at an ocean overlook in Rancho Palos Verdes, which occurred just days before the incident involving Jesse Munoz.
The victims of that shooting, Taylorraaven Whittaker, 26, and Jorge Ramos, 36, were honored in a vigil held at the scene.
