Biden And Xi Building Rival Global Coalitions

While the world is struggling with global challenges, Biden and Xi are doing their best to build their respective alliances.

The US is developing security relations with India’s autocratic leader and other Asia-Pacific “strongmen,” including Saudi Arabia’s outcast, Prince Mohammad bin Salman.

On the other hand, China is pursuing African and Arab countries as well as the “Global South” with enticing promises of a bold new multipolar world, expanded BRICS, and an egalitarian G20. Russia is increasingly clinging to Beijing, North Korea, and other like-minded rogue governments.

With all the existing global challenges, right now both Biden and Xi are pursuing other countries for alliance.

So in the question of who would most likely rule the 21st century, between Biden and Xi, remains unanswered. At this moment, Biden and Xi and their respective governments are scrambling to build and join alliances.
