According to Southwest Journal, Charlotte’s wildlife is a secret gem among the tall buildings and busy city life of the Queen Metropolitan. Wildlife like the beautiful song of Carolina Chickadees and the amazing flight of Bald Eagles may surprise people who love nature. Charlotte’s birds live in wetlands, forests, and parks. Great Blue Herons and Ospreys live in Lake Norman, a peaceful spot that is only a short drive away.

Wildlife in Charlotte’s Cities
Charlotte’s white-tailed deer, foxes, and gray squirrels live with people, even though there are lots of buildings and noise. The southwest’s McDowell Nature Center and Preserve is a unique place to see foxes and bobcats. Charlotte worries about keeping these animals’ homes safe.
