Garland Teen Murder Suspect Still at Large

Garland police are actively investigating the case of a teen murder suspect who still remains at large, analyzing data, and pursuing every lead in their efforts to locate and apprehend the suspect, Fox4News reported.

One of the victims, Xavier Gonzalez, would have turned 16 years old on Tuesday, but his life was tragically cut short the day after Christmas in 2021.

“We don’t have him here. We’re not going to have that smile that we always see all the time,” expressed Lluneli Lopez, Xavier’s mother. Gonzalez was an innocent bystander who was buying tacos for his family when he was shot and killed by the teen murder suspect inside the Texaco convenience store in Garland.

The alleged teen murder suspect, 14-year-old Abel Acosta, reportedly had prior conflicts with the other two teenagers who were killed, Rafael Garcia and Ivan Noyala. The teen murder suspect remains at large.

Police Search for Teen Murder Suspect

Garland police investigators are faced with the question of how a 14-year-old, now 15 years old teen murder suspect could disappear without a trace.

Detective Lucas Shupe believes that the teen murder suspect’s family is assisting him in evading law enforcement and escaping North Texas.

“I don’t believe a mom has no idea where her now 15-year-old son is. I think she knows where he is,” stated Shupe. “And I think she had knowledge about how they got him there as well.” However, the Acosta family has been uncooperative with the investigation, according to Shupe.

Richard Acosta, the father of the teen murder suspect was convicted of capital murder in February and is currently serving a life sentence in prison for his involvement as his son’s getaway driver.

Despite some potential leads, including promising sightings that suggest Abel may be in Mexico, investigators have faced challenges. Some reported sightings turned out to be individuals who simply resembled Abel.

In their ongoing efforts to locate the teen murder suspect, the Garland police are now utilizing new data mining technology to uncover any missed information that could aid in their search.

The Garland Police Department is encouraging anyone with even the smallest piece of information regarding the whereabouts of the teen murder suspects to contact them. A reward is available for information that leads to his arrest.
