Colorado Taxpayers Can Now Track Tax Refund Online

Colorado taxpayers can now track the status of their tax refund online, as the Colorado Department of Revenue has started processing 2023 tax returns. However, due to the delay, the department requests taxpayers to be patient in receiving their refunds.

The tax deadline is still a month and a half away, but some people prefer to file early to get their tax refund as soon as possible. The Colorado Department of Revenue allows taxpayers to track the progress of their refund online.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you track your tax refund:

1. Visit the Colorado Department of Revenue’s Taxation Division website.
2. click the “Where’s my refund?” banner on the homepage.
3. The next page will provide details on where your refund may be. The crucial information is in the paragraph “Check Refund Status Online.” Click the “Revenue Online” hyperlink in the first sentence to be redirected to a new page.
4. The new page will have more information on revenue resources. To track your refund, scroll down to the first box that reads “Refund Resources” and click “Where’s My Refund for Individuals?”
5. You’ll be taken to a form titled “Check Refund Status.”
6. Provide your total Social Security number or PIN/letter ID.
7. Enter your refund amount. If you don’t need to know the refund amount you claimed, you can use a Letter ID number from a recent income tax correspondence from the department.
8. Click “Get My Refund.”
9. The final page will show you the status of your refund.

According to the department, the updated status may take a few days. You can check back often to confirm where your refund is within the process.

The Colorado Department of Revenue had delayed processing 2023 tax returns until February 12, but it is now underway. However, due to the delay, the department requests taxpayers to be patient in receiving their refunds. It may take another three to four weeks from February 12 until taxpayers see any money in their bank account.

Nevertheless, the Colorado Department of Revenue’s online tracking system makes it easier for taxpayers to keep track of their refund status. The department advises taxpayers to check back often to verify where their refund is within the process.

Remember, the deadline to file taxes is April 15.
