In a tense evening in Schaumburg, 37-year-old Jacob Tamillo Arrested face charges of attempted murder after allegedly firing shots from his apartment balcony on Thursday. The incident unfolded in response to a neighbor complaint leading a Schaumburg police officer to the area of 1200 Cambia Drive just before 8:30 p.m. Tamillo, a resident of the neighborhood was charged with two counts of attempted murder with intent to kill or injure.
Jacob Tamillo Arrested Identify as Gunman
Responding to the neighbor complaint the officer heard multiple gunshots and quickly located victims and witnesses who pinpointed the source to Tamillo’s balcony. The victims had recognized Tamillo from prior interactions within the neighborhood, Schaumburg police reported.
Despite the identification, Tamillo allegedly retreated into his apartment refusing to cooperate with officers’ requests to exit. The situation escalated prompting the Northern Illinois Police Alarm System to respond. Eventually, Jacob Tamillo arrested and surrendered and was taken into custody just before 1 a.m. on Friday.
Law enforcement recovered a black handgun and spent shell casings from the scene emphasizing the gravity of the situation. Fortunately, no injuries or property damage resulted from the gunfire.

Detention Hearing Scheduled for Tamillo
On Saturday, Jacob Tamillo is scheduled to appear in the Cook County Circuit Court for a detention hearing.
