According to Jpost report, in an interview, Russia’s Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, questioned a theory suggesting Israel knew about a planned attack by Hamas on October 7 in advance. Lavrov doubted that Israel, if warned, would take the necessary precautions. He also criticized the United States, blaming its past actions in the Middle East for the current tensions. Lavrov urged against repeating mistakes, citing U.S. interventions in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, and other places.
Lavrov’s concerns highlight the need for international cooperation and adherence to laws. In response, the Hamas group appreciated Lavrov’s comments, agreeing that the U.S. plays a harmful role in the Palestinian conflict. They stressed the importance of ending injustice against Palestinians for regional stability. Both comments reflect the ongoing complexities and challenges in the Middle East, as Russia and Hamas express skepticism about certain narratives and call for international intervention to address the issues.
