This sudden change has left individuals scrambling to find alternative coverage options, a published article in Public News Service reported.
Prior to removing individuals from Medicaid in Florida, the Department of Children and Families claimed to have made multiple attempts to contact them through various channels, including texts, letters, emails, and calls. Renewal instructions were supposed to be sent out 45 days before the renewal date to ensure individuals had ample time to complete the necessary paperwork.

Healthcare Advocates’ Response to Medicaid in Florida
