Contractors’ Disturbing Discovery and Alleged Supervisor Negligence Unravel a Cold Case near UC Berkeley
Contractors who found skeletal remains in an abandoned building near UC Berkeley two years ago claim they informed a Cal supervisor about the discovery, but the supervisor allegedly failed to report it to the police. The case resurfaced when the workers reported the skeletal remains to the University of California Police Department in January of this year, garnering attention from Fox News and The Berkeley Scanner.
According to the contractors, they stumbled upon the human skeleton while carrying out work at Clark Kerr Campus on June 14, 2021, and immediately reported the finding of the skeletal remains to a UC Berkeley facilities supervisor. However, months passed without any action being taken on the matter, leaving the skeletal remains undisturbed. Despite feeling uneasy about the situation, the contractors decided not to pursue the matter further, wanting to maintain a positive relationship with UC Berkeley, which had been a long-time client.
Contractors Speak Out on Skeletal Remains Case
The revelation prompted the workers to speak out publicly this week, expressing their concern over the lack of updates and unanswered questions surrounding the skeletal remains case. “I just wanted the truth to come out about when the body was found,” said the contractor, whose brother made the grisly discovery.
In contrast to the initial statement released by the university in January, the contractors’ accounts shed light on the timeline of the skeletal remains discovery. Despite the international headlines generated by the case, UC Berkeley police have remained tight-lipped on the matter.
As authorities investigate the delayed reporting, UC Berkeley officials have yet to respond to the allegations as of the time of publication. With the case gaining renewed attention, the public is eager for further updates from the involved parties and authorities.
