Oklahoma Mother’s Murder-Suicide

According to People News, the authorities reported that the murder-suicide incident took place during a supervised visitation at McCaslin’s home.

She barricaded herself and her children inside, leading to a tense situation that ultimately ended in unspeakable tragedy.

The Verdigris Police Department noticed fireworks erupting outside the house and, upon investigation, discovered an armed and barricaded McCaslin along with her children.

Negotiations with Oklahoman mother McCaslin during the standoff proved unsuccessful. After several hours the police discovered that she had shot all three of her children before turning the weapon on herself.

According to OSBI Public Information Manager Hunter McKee, the standoff began around 4 p.m. local time after a vigilant Verdigris police officer sensed that something was wrong.

The officer noticed a Roman candle being fired out of a smashed window in the garage, prompting immediate intervention. The officer found a woman and several children in the garage, with Oklahoman mother McCaslin using fireworks as a distress signal.

The woman, who was there for a supervised visitation faced a terrifying ordeal as Oklahoman mother McCaslin pointed a gun at her, seized her own child and locked the woman and two other children in the garage.

Fortunately, with the arrival of the police the woman and the two children were able to escape safely. The situation was further intensified with the response of the Cherokee Nation Marshal Service’s SWAT team.

Events Before the Murder-Suicide

A family friend, Lucretia Pitre, shared her grief and shock over the murder-suicide incident.

She recalled that just two days before the tragedy, McCaslin had posted a seemingly happy photo of herself with her baby boy on Facebook. However, Pitre noticed a certain sadness in her expression suggesting that she was struggling with something internally.

According to a published article, in the aftermath of the murder-suicide incident, the father of the 9-month-old infant Billy Jacobson, expressed his heartache and disbelief. He fondly remembered his son as a perfect and sweet baby, cherishing the moments they shared together.

Billy’s radiant smile each morning brought immense joy to Jacobson’s life, and he now faces the daunting prospect of life without his beloved child.

Billy Jacobson reached out on social media, requesting that people respect his son’s name and refer to him as “Billy.” He revealed that McCaslin had changed the baby’s name in response to their breakup, but he held a strong attachment to the original name and wanted it to be honored as a tribute to his late son.

In the wake of this tragedy, a GoFundMe campaign has been created to support the Jacobson family during this difficult time.

The Verdigris Police Department, understandably, has not yet responded to media inquiries regarding the incident.
